Craftly Community Standards
Effective Date: April 1, 2026
1. Purpose
These Community Standards ("Standards") set forth the rules and expectations for all users of the Craftly platform located at getcraftly.io and any associated mobile applications (the "Platform"). These Standards are incorporated into and subject to our Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined herein have the meanings set forth in the Terms of Service.
Craftly is a professional identity and discovery platform that connects independent service providers with people who need their services. These Standards exist to maintain a safe, trustworthy, and professional environment for all users.
By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to comply with these Standards. Craftly reserves the right to interpret and enforce these Standards in its sole discretion.
2. Core Principles
2.1 Be Who You Say You Are
Your Craftly profile is a professional representation of you. Every element of your profile — your name, photograph, biography, credentials, service descriptions, and portfolio — must accurately represent who you are and what you do.
The following are prohibited:
(a) Creating a profile under a false name or identity;
(b) Using another person's photograph, portfolio work, or credentials as your own;
(c) Claiming certifications, licenses, or qualifications that you do not currently hold;
(d) Misrepresenting your experience, skills, or the nature of your services;
(e) Operating an agency, staffing company, or multi-person operation while presenting yourself as an individual service provider. Craftly's guiding standard is: the person on the profile is the person who shows up to deliver the service. If that is not the case, the profile violates these Standards;
(f) Creating multiple accounts for the same person; and
(g) Creating accounts on behalf of another person without their knowledge and consent.
2.2 Be Honest
Trust is the foundation of the Craftly platform. All users are expected to act honestly and in good faith in all interactions, including:
(a) Providing truthful information in profiles, connection requests, reviews, and messages;
(b) Accurately representing pricing, availability, and service capabilities;
(c) Honoring commitments made through the Platform;
(d) Disclosing material information that a reasonable person would want to know before engaging in a service transaction (such as subcontracting arrangements, material limitations, or known scheduling conflicts); and
(e) Answering the "Did the person on the profile deliver the service?" review question truthfully.
2.3 Be Respectful
Craftly is a professional environment. All users must treat other users with respect and professionalism. The following are prohibited in any Platform interaction, including messages, reviews, connection requests, and profile content:
(a) Threats of violence or physical harm;
(b) Harassment, bullying, intimidation, or stalking;
(c) Hate speech, slurs, or discriminatory language based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic;
(d) Sexually explicit, obscene, or pornographic content;
(e) Doxxing — publishing or threatening to publish another person's private information (such as home address, phone number, or financial information) without their consent;
(f) Retaliatory conduct, including threatening negative reviews, filing false reports, or harassing a user who has declined a connection request or left an honest review; and
(g) Any conduct that a reasonable person would find intimidating, hostile, or abusive in a professional context.
3. Prohibited Conduct
In addition to the conduct described in Section 2, the following activities are prohibited on the Platform. This list is not exhaustive; Craftly reserves the right to determine, in its sole discretion, that conduct not specifically listed here violates these Standards.
3.1 Review Manipulation
(a) Submitting a review for a service you did not receive through an accepted Craftly connection;
(b) Submitting a review on behalf of another person;
(c) Offering or accepting payment, discounts, free services, or any other incentive in exchange for a review;
(d) Coordinating with others to submit reviews that artificially inflate or deflate a Provider's rating;
(e) Submitting multiple reviews for the same service engagement;
(f) Pressuring, threatening, or retaliating against a user for the content of their review or their response to the "Did the person on the profile deliver the service?" question; and
(g) Using the review system to settle personal disputes unrelated to services received through the Platform.
3.2 Fraud and Deception
(a) Submitting fraudulent connection requests, including requests for services you do not intend to purchase;
(b) Accepting connection requests with no intention of providing the requested service;
(c) Misrepresenting the terms, scope, or pricing of a service after a connection has been established;
(d) Impersonating Craftly staff, moderators, or other users;
(e) Creating fictitious consumer accounts to generate false connection requests or reviews for your own Provider profile; and
(f) Any other conduct intended to deceive or defraud another user or Craftly.
3.3 Misuse of the Messaging System
(a) Sending unsolicited commercial messages, advertisements, or promotional material;
(b) Sending messages unrelated to a service connection for the purpose of soliciting business, recruiting, or marketing;
(c) Using the messaging system to harass, threaten, or abuse another user;
(d) Sending repetitive or excessive messages after a user has indicated they are not interested;
(e) Attempting to extract another user's personal contact information through deception or pressure; and
(f) Using the messaging system to facilitate transactions or activities that violate these Standards or applicable law.
3.4 Misuse of Contact Information
(a) Using another user's phone number, email address, or other contact information obtained through the Platform for any purpose other than communicating about services arranged through the Platform;
(b) Adding another user's contact information to marketing lists, mailing lists, or any database without their explicit consent;
(c) Sharing another user's contact information with third parties without that user's explicit consent; and
(d) Using contact information obtained through the Platform to harass, stalk, or engage in unwanted contact outside the Platform.
3.5 Data Harvesting and Platform Abuse
(a) Using bots, crawlers, scrapers, spiders, or any other automated tool or process to access, collect, copy, or index data from the Platform, except as expressly permitted by our robots.txt file;
(b) Systematically downloading, copying, or extracting Provider profiles, portfolio content, reviews, pricing data, or any other Platform data;
(c) Creating, operating, or contributing to any service, database, or directory that replicates or substitutes for a material portion of the Platform's provider database;
(d) Circumventing, disabling, or interfering with any security, rate-limiting, content-gating, authentication, or access-restriction measures implemented on the Platform;
(e) Reverse-engineering, decompiling, or disassembling any part of the Platform;
(f) Accessing or attempting to access another user's account or data without authorization; and
(g) Interfering with, disrupting, or placing an unreasonable load on the Platform's infrastructure or connected networks.
3.6 Illegal and Harmful Activity
(a) Using the Platform to facilitate any activity that is illegal under applicable local, state, national, or international law;
(b) Offering or soliciting services that are illegal in the jurisdiction where they would be performed;
(c) Using the Platform to facilitate money laundering, tax evasion, or other financial crimes;
(d) Uploading content that contains malware, viruses, or other harmful code; and
(e) Using the Platform to facilitate discrimination in violation of applicable anti-discrimination laws.
3.7 Off-Platform Conduct
Craftly may take action based on conduct that occurs off the Platform if that conduct:
(a) Is directly related to a connection, service transaction, or relationship that originated on the Platform;
(b) Poses a safety risk to other users of the Platform;
(c) Involves the misuse of another user's information obtained through the Platform; or
(d) Otherwise affects the trust, safety, or integrity of the Craftly community.
4. Provider-Specific Standards
In addition to the general standards above, the following apply specifically to users with Provider profiles:
4.1 The Person on the Profile Delivers the Service
This is the foundational rule of Craftly. The person whose name, photograph, and credentials appear on a Provider profile must be the person who personally delivers the service to the Consumer. Violations include:
(a) Sending a substitute, employee, or subcontractor to perform the service without the Consumer's prior knowledge and explicit agreement;
(b) Operating as an agency or staffing company while presenting as an individual;
(c) Sharing a single Provider profile among multiple individuals who take turns delivering services; and
(d) Creating a profile for a business entity that dispatches different individuals to different jobs.
Small businesses are permitted on Craftly, provided the profile accurately represents the business and the person or people who deliver the service. The guiding test remains: the person on the profile is the person who shows up. If a small business owner is the one who personally delivers every service, that is permitted. If the business dispatches different employees, it is not.
Confirmed violations of this rule may result in immediate account termination without prior warning.
4.2 Credential Accuracy
Providers must not claim certifications, licenses, insurance coverage, or professional qualifications they do not currently hold. If a credential expires or is revoked, the Provider must update their profile promptly. Craftly is not responsible for verifying the accuracy of any credential claimed by a Provider, and the display of credentials on a Provider's profile does not constitute an endorsement or verification by Craftly.
4.3 Portfolio Integrity
All portfolio content (photographs, videos, documents) must represent the Provider's own work. Providers must not:
(a) Use stock photography, AI-generated images, or images found online and present them as their own work;
(b) Use another provider's work product in their portfolio; or
(c) Materially alter portfolio content in a way that misrepresents the quality or nature of the work (minor edits such as color correction or cropping are acceptable).
4.4 Pricing Transparency
Providers must represent their pricing honestly. If a Provider quotes a different price than what is displayed on their profile, or adds undisclosed fees after a connection is established, this may be treated as a violation of these Standards.
5. Consumer-Specific Standards
In addition to the general standards above, the following apply specifically to users acting as Consumers:
5.1 Good Faith Requests
Connection requests must reflect a genuine interest in engaging the Provider for services. Consumers must not:
(a) Submit connection requests with no intention of hiring the Provider;
(b) Submit requests solely to obtain pricing information, portfolio content, or personal information from the Provider;
(c) Submit requests on behalf of a competitor or data-collection service; or
(d) Submit excessive or repetitive requests to the same Provider after being declined or ignored.
5.2 Respectful Interactions
Consumers must treat Providers with professional respect, including:
(a) Respecting a Provider's right to decline or ignore a connection request without explanation;
(b) Not pressuring Providers to lower their prices, work outside their stated availability, or provide services beyond the agreed scope; and
(c) Not using the promise or threat of a review to extract concessions or favorable treatment from a Provider.
5.3 Honest Reviews
Consumer reviews must accurately reflect the Consumer's genuine experience with the Provider. Reviews must comply with the Review & Reputation Policy and the Review Submission Attestation.
6. Enforcement
6.1 Craftly's Discretion
Craftly reserves the right to investigate and enforce these Standards in its sole discretion. Craftly's enforcement decisions are final. Craftly is not obligated to take action against any particular violation, and the decision not to take action in one case does not waive Craftly's right to take action in the same or similar cases in the future.
6.2 Investigation
When Craftly becomes aware of a potential violation — through user reports, automated detection, review patterns, or any other means — Craftly may investigate using any information available to it, including but not limited to:
(a) Message history stored in the Platform;
(b) Review content and patterns;
(c) Profile data and edit history;
(d) Connection request history;
(e) Identity verification records;
(f) IP addresses and device information; and
(g) Reports and communications from other users.
You acknowledge and agree that Craftly may review your messages, profile data, and other Platform activity in connection with an investigation, regardless of your delivery preference settings (in-app, SMS, or email).
6.3 Enforcement Actions
Depending on the nature and severity of the violation, Craftly may take one or more of the following actions, in any order and without obligation to follow a progressive discipline process:
(a) Warning — A notification that your conduct violates these Standards, with a requirement to cease the conduct;
(b) Content removal — Removal of specific content (profile information, portfolio items, reviews, messages) that violates these Standards;
(c) Feature restriction — Temporary or permanent restriction of access to specific Platform features (such as messaging, reviewing, or search visibility);
(d) Profile suspension — Temporary removal of your profile from search results and public visibility;
(e) Account suspension — Temporary suspension of your access to the Platform;
(f) Account termination — Permanent termination of your account and removal of all associated data, subject to retention provisions in our Privacy Policy;
(g) Verified Badge removal — Removal of the Verified Badge or "Who You See Is Who You Get" designation;
(h) Reporting to law enforcement — In cases involving illegal activity or imminent safety threats, Craftly may report the conduct to appropriate law enforcement authorities; and
(i) Legal action — Pursuit of legal remedies, including injunctive relief and damages, as permitted by the Terms of Service.
6.4 Severity Guidelines
Craftly is not bound by the following guidelines and may exercise its discretion in all cases, but as a general matter:
(a) Immediate termination without warning may apply to: identity fraud, confirmed "Who You See Is Who You Get" violations, agency misrepresentation, illegal activity, threats of violence, and severe or repeated harassment;
(b) Suspension or feature restriction may apply to: review manipulation, repeated spam, misuse of contact information, credential misrepresentation, and repeated minor violations after a warning; and
(c) Warning may apply to: first-time minor violations, profile inaccuracies, pricing discrepancies, and conduct that appears unintentional.
These are guidelines only. Craftly reserves the right to escalate or de-escalate enforcement actions based on the totality of the circumstances.
6.5 No Obligation to Monitor
Craftly has no obligation to proactively monitor user conduct, content, messages, or Platform activity for violations of these Standards. Craftly's right to investigate and enforce these Standards is permissive, not mandatory. The absence of enforcement action does not constitute approval of, or acquiescence to, any user's conduct.
7. Reporting Violations
7.1 How to Report
If you believe a user has violated these Standards, you may report the violation by:
(a) Using the in-app reporting feature available on user profiles, in message threads, and on review content; or
(b) Emailing service@getcraftly.io with a description of the violation and any supporting information.
7.2 What to Include
Reports should include, where possible:
(a) The name or profile of the user you are reporting;
(b) A description of the conduct that violates these Standards;
(c) The date and time of the conduct (if applicable);
(d) Screenshots, messages, or other evidence; and
(e) Your contact information (for follow-up purposes).
7.3 Good Faith Reporting
Reports must be submitted in good faith. Submitting false, malicious, or frivolous reports — including reports intended to harass a user, retaliate for an honest review, or gain a competitive advantage — is itself a violation of these Standards and may result in enforcement action against the reporting user.
7.4 Confidentiality of Reports
Craftly will make reasonable efforts to maintain the confidentiality of the reporting user's identity during an investigation, but cannot guarantee confidentiality in all circumstances (such as where disclosure is required by law or necessary to conduct a fair investigation).
7.5 No Guaranteed Outcome
Craftly is not obligated to take any specific action in response to a report, and will not necessarily inform the reporting user of the outcome of an investigation. Craftly's enforcement decisions are made in its sole discretion and are final.
8. Appeals
8.1 Right to Appeal
If your account has been suspended or terminated, or if content has been removed from your profile, you may appeal the decision by emailing service@getcraftly.io within thirty (30) days of the enforcement action.
8.2 Appeal Process
Appeals should include:
(a) A description of the enforcement action taken;
(b) The reason you believe the action was unwarranted or disproportionate; and
(c) Any additional information or context you would like Craftly to consider.
8.3 Appeal Decisions
Craftly will review appeals and respond within a reasonable time. Appeal decisions are made in Craftly's sole discretion and are final. Craftly is not obligated to reverse any enforcement action, and submission of an appeal does not suspend or delay the enforcement action while the appeal is pending.
9. Limitations
9.1 Craftly Is Not Law Enforcement
Craftly is a private platform, not a law enforcement agency or government authority. If you are in immediate danger or believe a crime has been committed, contact local law enforcement or emergency services.
9.2 Craftly Does Not Mediate Disputes
Craftly does not mediate, arbitrate, or resolve disputes between Providers and Consumers regarding the provision of services, pricing, quality, scheduling, or payment. Service transactions are between the Provider and the Consumer. Craftly's role is limited to enforcing Platform rules and maintaining the integrity of the Craftly community.
9.3 No Warranty of Safety
While Craftly endeavors to maintain a safe and professional platform, Craftly does not warrant, guarantee, or represent that the Platform or its users are safe, trustworthy, or free from harmful conduct. Users are responsible for their own safety and due diligence in all interactions.
10. Changes to These Standards
Craftly reserves the right to modify these Standards at any time, in its sole discretion. Changes will be posted on the Platform with a revised "Effective Date." Material changes will be communicated in accordance with the modification procedures set forth in our Terms of Service. Your continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Standards.
